Gary,

Alex, Martin, and I would like to thank you for helping Alex be successful in being identified as the residential parent for Luke when he starts school.  This has been an extremely stressful time for our family and we truly appreciate everything you have done.  Have a wonderful holiday season!!!

Inquiry?

I have a passion for helping people find the best possible solution for their legal problems. The decisions you make can affect the rest of your life. My job is to help you understand all of your options, and give you the information and confidence you need to make good choices.

I work as a partner with my client, providing sound advice and straight answers to help resolve the often excruciating personal issues that arise when a marriage unravels. I provide caring, calm, patient, and personal attention to each client.

I begin by listening to a client. Working together, my client and I identify the problem to be resolved, establish realistic goals, gather necessary information, and consider the options. I empower my clients to make informed choices by educating them about the law and its possible impact on the facts of their case. The result creates for the client an experience of being cared for, producing the best possible result under the circumstances, and achieving a resolution so the client can move on. My approach is client-focused. Rather than looking to assess blame and remaining stuck in the past, I help my clients see a better future through creative problem solving.

The difference makers for me are: my ability to listen; my thoroughness; my diligence; my competence; my experience; my word; my integrity; my "count-on-ability." My ultimate career goal is to be the best lawyer I can be each day. What I like best about what I do is helping others.

Professional Commitment:

My practice is focused in the areas of family law, juvenile law, probate/estate planning, mental health law, and business law. In addition to litigation services, I offer alternative dispute resolution services, including mediation and the collaborative law process and parent coordination, for all types of family law matters. I have practiced law for more than 35 years. I have been on the Family Court of St. Louis County Approved List of Mediators since 1996. I have received from Martindale-Hubbell a peer review rating of AV, the highest possible for ethical standards and legal ability.

I am a founding member, and past board member/officer, of the Collaborative Family Law Association (CFLA), a founding member of the Missouri Chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC), and member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP).

I think people will continue to look more to various types of alternative dispute resolution. I foresee the use of mediation increasing as a method of choice to resolve all types of civil disputes. I believe collaborative law/practice will become a more widely accepted and used alternative for resolving any kind of civil matter, and in particular most types of family law disputes.
